It's official: Stephen King has confirmed (per stephenking.com) that he is in the process of completing a sequel to his 1977 novel The Shining. Because why should George Lucas be the only one who gets to stomp all over his own beloved properties?
The new book (which hasn't been set for release yet but which, I assume, someone already has the film rights for) is entitled Dr. Sleep and follows the adventures of a now grown-up Danny Torrance. Danny works in a hospital for the terminally ill and, presumably, uses his clairvoyant powers to haul himself in and out of gory trouble.
Oh, and there's vampires. Psychic vampires. They call themselves The Tribe. So, yeah....
Sarah DeVries was born in Pierre in 1980. She's lived in South Dakota most of her life and in the Black Hills for five years. She's known Derek for about two years helped out on Scattering Tarnac the Great, mostly with the boom. She works at Green Tree and likes writing in her spare time (hence the attachment to Dirty Sprocket). She has one cat, one fish and no children and plans on keeping it that way.
