I am aware of how long it has been since my last post. I’m not proud that I am such a terrible Sprocker but I shall try to amend this problem. Now that the self loathing is over, on the the main event!

I have had a lot of contact recently with friends of mine from college who are off in New York and L.A.  They are all doing wonderful in their respective talents but times are tough and you can’t open every door by yourself. You need friends who look out for you, back you up, and just generally care how your career is doing. Because if you do that for them, they shall in turn reward you with a hand up instead of a hand out.

What I mean by all this seemingly fluffy ramble is that use your talents and ideas to better those around you. I have spoken to several people I know in L.A. who have careers and I am setting them up with my friends to see if the former can help the later. This is how this business works. Not that I am any expert in the least but think about this even in your everyday life. It’s about who you know. Does your friend need a job in this failing economy? Make a call! Most people are to proud anymore to ask for a good word, so take the initiative yourself! I’m so sad to see people struggle with opportunity just because people won’t lend a hand.

I am breaching this topic because their are so many people you yourself know that are soooooo talented. So if the oppertunity arises, push them through the proverbial door even if they arent sure about how it will end. In my opinion it is better to have at least tried even if you fail. IT’S HOW WE LEARN!

I’m sorry if this particular post seems “preachy” but it’s whats on my mind at the moment so deal! lol

If you have come this far then I hopefully I have given you something to think about. Your friends are your life blood! Without them, your just another starving actor/writer/tech with a dream and an empty resume.

I realize this is far out dated because I saw this movie when it released but better late than never, right? Well let’s just dive in! First, this movie was everything I wanted. The actors were perfectly cast and played their parts with enough of their predecessor’s mannerisms and style yet the new cast brought life and edge to the parts they played. I heard many complaints about the ships and technology being to high tech for a prequel but i disagree. If Gene Roddenberry had the chance to use the set and props from this movie he would have. There again the set pieces and technology of the Star Trek genre was there it just had a fresh new edge, and that is what we as viewers wanted. As a whole this move only had one complaint from me, and that was that the Romulans where not quite what I expected and I honestly wasn’t sure that that’s what they where till later. Very nit picky I know but as a thespian and all around genius about everything this is a great complaint because as Derek and I told our high school actors, “If this little stuff is all we pick at, your doing great!” So in closing, go see this movie if you haven’t already! Trust me……. I’m a doctor. Don’t believe me? Well I don’t care cause if your reading this, odds are you aren’t either!

So last night Derek, Matt and I went to Dragonball Evolution. With shame on our faces and sadness in our hearts we spent $9.00 each to see this…. “film”.  The first half hour consisted entirely of previews, no joke but i would like to add it gave me huge amounts of hope to know that we can do SOOOO much better making movies than the crew and writers of “Now I Can See You”, the the last hour was the movie. In my opinion it either needed to be and hour longer or cut the crap and just give me the awesome (and they were) fight scenes.  As Derek put it we really did “get out of it what we wanted” and saw all our favorite Kamehameha blasts and dragon scenes.  I just cant help but feel torn because as much as I wanted to hate this movie, I keep thinkng back today about how much I did kinda like it.  The critics have torn it asunder but I think they are missing the point. THIS IS A MOVIE FROM AN ANIME CARTOON. The arguments I have read are pretty weak “all of the silly things and crazy powers are outlandish and the story lacked structure and flow”, sorry folks thats DB and DBZ for ya.  I will play to other side for one issue and that is had I never seen the show I might be confused to but fact is, dont go to movies like this if you are looking for a deep story and plot structure. Because if you do you are more of an idiot then my friends who can do the entire “Fusion Dance.” If you are unaware of what the afforementioned is than clearly you are in the majority of people on planet Earth and probably have a life. (Sorry Kimby and Nick!)

Thats the truth and if you dont believe me than you can………I dont know go read someone elses blog!
